Bucket List

Everyone seems to have a “Bucket List” these days.  I decided to make one for my business.  I’ve had weddings with all sorts of animals, brides arriving in unusual ways, weddings with trains, too many cool things to list.  There are still some missing.  Here is a list of some of the weddings still on my “To Plan Wish List.”  In no particular order…

1.) A WEDDING AT DISNEYLAND
For those of you that know me this is no surprise.  I am in love with all things Disney and would love to plan a wedding at Disneyland.  Not a Disney themed wedding.  (By the way, the word “theme” makes my skin crawl.)  A wedding a Disneyland.  There is a difference.

2.)  A WEDDING AT HEARST CASTLE
As close as you can come to royalty here in America.  I have long been obsessed with Mr. Hearst and his beautiful home.  This castle is only about 30 minutes from where I live, so a very real possibility.  I have had friends/wedding vendors work there, I just need to get my glass slipper in the door.

3.)  MY SON’S WEDDING
No, he doesn’t have any plans to get married in the near future as he is 10, but this would absolutely be a dream come true to plan his wedding with his beautiful bride.

4.)  A WEDDING IN YOSEMITE
Ah, one of my favorite places.  If you don’t choke up as you come out of the tunnel, you’re not human.  This would be so cool!  There is a little chapel in Yosemite to get married in, but I’m all about finding our own spot in nature.  Again, this isn’t too far from my home, only a few hours.  So another possibility.

5.)  A WEDDING OUT OF THE COUNTRY
Because, well, out of the country.  😉

6.)  A WEDDING WITH A ICE SCULPTURE
This might sound like funny thing to desire, but I’ve never had a ice feature at one of my weddings.  I love the grandeur and opulence of the medium of ice.  It is only there for the event, never to be recreated again.
*I’ll be able to cross this off my list this June when I have a ice luge at a wedding!

7.)  A CHRISTMAS WEDDING
This would be so amazing!  As I was shopping this year I couldn’t help but think how easy it would be to decorate for a Christmas wedding.  What a fun time of year to celebrate your anniversary.

8.)  MY BEST FRIEND’S WEDDING
It is always a complement when a friend asks you to plan their wedding.  I have planned a number of close friend’s weddings including my BFF’s Cindy and Jim.  So friends, keep asking, I can’t say no.

9.)  A WEDDING ON T.V.
 Because, T.V.

10.)  MY COUSINS’ WEDDINGS
I have 5 cousins, 4 girls and 1 boy.  I have had the honor and pleasure of planning two out of the five so far.  The others aren’t married, so here’s hoping for a full sweep!

11.)  A CELEBRITY WEDDING
I have planned weddings with celebrities in them, but never for one.  I’m not even really into fame and all that, I just think the guest list would be so much fun.  I know this might sound crazy, but out of everyone I can think of,  I would kill to plan Rob Dydrek‘s wedding.  (If and when he becomes engaged.)  This guy is crazy awesome with a true love for his family.  I could only imagine what his wedding would be like.  Call me Rob.

12.)  AN EVENING WEDDING
The noise ordnance here in San Luis Obispo county is 10:00 pm.  Yes, we plan after parties and go all night, but the weddings have to start around 4:00 to accommodate this end time.  I would love to plan a wedding under the stars with tons of candle light and no end time.

13.)  A WEDDING WHERE GUESTS SHOW UP ON TIME
This will never, ever happen.  But hey, had to put it on here.  You know me and my sarcasm.  😉 Seriously guests, what the heck is wrong with you, get there on time!  I think this is a California thing.

14.)  CULTURAL WEDDINGS
One of the highlights of my career was planning a full on Indian wedding.  I loved the challenge and to learn all about another culture and traditions.

15.)  A NO BUDGET WEDDING
Because, no budget.  Duh.

16.)  A DOUBLE WEDDING
I have seen mostly sisters do this.  I think this would be difficult and really fun.  I would love the challenge of making two different brides happy at the same time.  As I type this, I realize I could very well live to regret it.

That is all I can think of for now.  I will add to this list and cross off as I complete one.  Can anyone help me with one of the weddings on my bucket list?  Contact me!
